Tradepoint Atlantic Bringing 500 Jobs and Major Investment to Howard County

Howard County is getting a serious boost. Tradepoint Atlantic, the industrial developer behind the massive redevelopment of Sparrows Point, is planting new roots along Route 1 with Tradepoint at Savage Crossing—a 500,000-square-foot logistics and warehouse hub expected to bring 500 new jobs and more than $100 million in investment.

Announced by County Executive Calvin Ball, the project is part of a broader push to reenergize the Route 1 corridor, long seen as full of untapped potential. The new site will include three modern industrial buildings with flex warehousing, built in phases starting in early 2026.

While just outside the county’s new Enterprise Zone, the project still plays a key role in Howard County’s economic development plan. Officials say it complements recent zoning changes that encourage smart growth and commercial revitalization along Route 1.

“This is about creating jobs where people live, boosting the tax base, and building a stronger community,” said state Sen. Guy Guzzone.

Tradepoint’s arrival signals growing interest in Howard County as a logistics and business hub between Baltimore and D.C. It’s a win for workers, a win for the local economy—and a strong step toward realizing the full potential of Route 1.
